A pitch for Head of Marketing & Brand

Where breakthroughs
become businesses.

Alchemist is evolving from accelerator to venture firm. I’d own the story and the launch that make that evolution clear, with founder progress at the center.

See the direction
Rooted in Silicon Valley. Built around founders.

Where I’d start

The substance is there.
Make the story clear.

The job is to give the firm a clear point of view, make it consistent across audiences and carry it through a coordinated launch. Here’s where I’d start.

The story

Explain the evolution.

Write the core narrative with the CEO and partners. Make investment, founder support and enterprise traction part of one understandable story.

The writing

Show the work.

Build portfolio stories around customer evidence. Write and edit the work myself, then bring in the right creative and communications support.

The follow-through

Own the rollout.

Give the website, announcements and partner voices a shared calendar. Keep contributors, approvals and delivery moving.

Who we’re talking to

One clear story.
For the people who matter.

Technical expertise can become a business people need.

Keep one source of truth, with the emphasis each audience needs. Include fund materials, community communications and the team’s public presence.

FOR THE PERSON BUILDING

You know the technology.
Let’s work on the business.

A sharper view of your customer. People who have sold into that market. Help working through the decisions between a promising product and a company with traction.

LaunchDarkly’s customer stories show what feature management makes possible. At Ally, the published results include fewer overnight and weekend releases alongside more production deployments.

How I’d get it out the door

A clear story.
Carried all the way through.

Agree on the story.Interview founders and the team. Audit current language. Decide what stays, what changes and what needs evidence.

Put a launch on the calendar.Sequence the website refresh, an anchor announcement and supporting stories. Assign an owner and approval date to each.

Give the team a voice.Shape partner bios, talks and podcast topics around the same point of view. Work with the funds team on LP materials.

Check what lands.Ask founders, partners and LPs how they describe Alchemist. Track message consistency, credible coverage and on-time delivery.

Bring the right people together

The right room.
For the right reason.

An extension of the brand work, in partnership with the ecosystem team: a focused gathering around a real founder question.

A small working session with enterprise buyers and founders who have sold into the same market. Leave with a clearer buying process and agreed follow-ups.

Who made this, and why?

I’m Brett.
A marketer with roots in venture.

At 500 Startups and Moderne Ventures, I worked across corporate development, LP relationships and founder support. I helped founders work through go-to-market and connect with funders, enterprise customers and partners.

Then I became an operator. Building brands and running GRTR taught me how to turn a story into a launch, run consumer and B2B campaigns, and stay responsible for the work through delivery.

I loved being in the accelerator world. I want to bring that operating experience back to a team helping founders build, across marketing, partnerships and platform.

I also helped build side.chat and use Codex and other AI tools to prototype and iterate, including this page.

Building brands at GRTR

Where I honed
the marketing work.

Helping build brands like Old Pal and Houseplant, alongside consumer and B2B campaigns, gave me hands-on experience turning a story into a launch.

Old Pal

Old Pal

Helped build and launch the brand from the beginning. I also came up with and brought the Babish × Old Pal collaboration to life.
